We need to feel breathless with love
And not collapsed under its weight
I'm gasping for the air to fill
My lungs with everything I've lost
And not collapsed under its weight
I'm gasping for the air to fill
My lungs with everything I've lost
i love the song terribly [Snow Patrol's Its Beginning to Get To Me] but these words just blow my mind. Music can contain so much emotion to it, which is how and why it moves me and is part of why it's such an integral part of my life, who i am, who i want to be.
today a song came on as i rode AIR BART to the airport. it was a song someone who used to be close to me showed me. it moved me, not like in the sense that i usually refer to of chills and a sense of perfect contentment in that moment, but in a more emotional sense. to be honest it really saddened me. why? i guess because the song, a Christian song, is something i learned a lot from and something that inspires me to grow...but now that person isn't around to know about it and even if she were she probably wouldn't care or understand in the way she should.
at the same time, it's about me and my personal growth, not her or her appreciation of me [or complete and utter lack thereof]. anyway...i really love the lyrics above and i'm gonna go enjoy music for the rest of the nite...unwinding, thinking, reflecting, getting back to me [something i think i did a lot this weekend in some ways], and just enjoying life for these moments as i get some rest for the work week.
